The industrialized production of meat is not only the source of much animal suffering, but also affects our health and the environment.

After the publication of shocking photos of some stables, many Germans are willing to pay a higher price for meat, if the animals live in better conditions.

Germany, Hamburg II

And now more concretely… who we are and what we do, and why actually?

In July 2017 there was an initial meeting for a multi-age get together in Hamburg. Who came, that was eight predominantly young people including quite small children from Taiwan, Ruanda, Germany, who were either working, studying  or  doing volunteer work. First of all it was and is a matter of taking time for each other, and showing interest in each other concerning the question of what we need (to feel healthy). I have felt lonely in my everyday life. In the high phase of my productivity, while I was writing my bachelor thesis, I rose in the morning around 20 before seven in order to stock the shelves in the supermarket, then to the university, had breakfast (alone), into the library (alone), had lunch, once again into the library, in the afternoon perhaps sport, then home, dinner and to bed. Costa Rica, San José – Palmichal II

From San José we look to the south toward the 2500 m high mountain range of the “Cerros de Escazú”. The higher locations stand under nature conservancy because the forest is ecologically valuable, protects against landslides and floods and represents an important water reservoir. On the south side of the mountains – opposite San José and Escazú – lies the region of Palmichal. Here the expansion of the coffee plantations right up to the steep rock slopes represents a threat.

Philippines, Samar – Oras

About 20 women leaders and members of Balokawe Women’s Livelihood Association and Oras working group had a workshop on climate change.  They were divided into 3 workshop groups  where they tackled the following questions:  1) What is their understanding of climate change? Define climate change. 2) What is/are their personal experience/s regarding climate change? 3) What could be the causes of climate change? Why is there a climate change crisis? 4) How can we deal or adapt to climate change? 5) Give your suggestions/recommendations on how you can help resolve or deal with the effects of climate change.
